Story Behind The Irish Air Ambulance
The Irish Air Ambulance does an outstanding job around the locality and around Munster. This is an organisation which is run without the government's help and is run by fundraising events held around the Munster area. To keep the Air ambulance running, each year they need to fundraise 3.5million. Each time the helicopter is called to help it costs €3500. This is all paid by fundraising done throughout the year. There is a very special team behind this that makes all this happen.
Each time this service is used there are drivers and four advanced paramedics onboard which work as an outstanding team to make sure that the person in need gets the care they need fast to save their life. Each year there are over 500 calls to the Air Ambulance. The Irish Air Ambulance mission is ‘Saving lives by Saving Time’. It covers a 25000km area within 30 minutes.
Ballyhass Lakes now wants to help The Irish Air Ambulance the way they helped them.
