2019 Season Updates
Lots of exciting times ahead.
you might have seen that we have been quiet for the last few months. While we have been quiet online we have been making big plans behind the scenes ahead of the 2019 season. This actually tends to be quite busy in the office with school tour bookings and early season group bookings for team building and weekend days out. We would highly recommend you give the bookings team a call and they can guide you through all the exciting new packages, activities and days out we have on offer. But for now, let us guide you through what's coming up in the different areas of Ballyhass Adventure Group.
Always the first to reopen we generally have a queue of eager wakeboarders itching to get back on the water. 2019 is shaping up to be no different. You might have seen on our wakepark Instagram account the countdown photos ahead of the 2nd of March opening date. Lots of exciting plans ahead of this season and we will be launching our event calendar on the opening weekend. There will be a brand new layout on both the East and the West park for 2019. Every level of rider will be pushed. We hope to do regular changes during the season to the obstacle positions in order to keep things interesting and our regular riders progressing...

Our newest and most exciting endeavour this year is the opening of Ballyhass Axe Throwing. Two axe throwing alleys one in Mallow and another in Coachford will be opening this season. Now we have never been laughed at so much when we say this but trust us this will be huge. We are already affiliated to WATL The world axe throwing league. We will be holding quarterly leagues, open walk-in evenings and alley rental from March onwards in Mallow and May onwards in Coachford. We are excited to see a community build up around this sport. Founded in Canada in the mid-90s this sport has grown and grown stateside with every major city having multiple axe throwing venues. It culminated in the world axe throwing finals being televised on ESPN last Christmas. Axe throwing is on the crest of a wave at the moment and we are excited to bring this sport into the heart of Munster with our two throwing alleys. Looking for an event for your team or corporate group. Let us organize you a whole axe throwing tournament and give someone in your group Axe Throwing Champion bragging rights.

Of course, we have lots of new additions to our activities also. In Mallow, we have new team games area constructed that will challenge your team to crystal maze-like games that you will be pitted to compete against the clock to amass as many crystals as you can. Find out how well your team will work together in these challenges, mental, physical and skill-based challenges. In addition to our water based activities, there will be a brand new kayak polo arena based in the main lake at Ballyhass Mallow. It will be a competition size and be an incredible team building activity. If you haven't gone head to head with your teammates out on the water you just don't know them!!
All the details of our summer camps for 2019 are now live. You can book and pay your deposit online and we would advise you doing so as soon as you have your plans in order. We have some big groups already booked into some of the weeks. Saying that there are also some really new exciting summer camps coming out of our Ballyhass Coachford site. Some of our biggest expansions are coming out of Ballyhass Coachford in 2019. We are introducing brand new multi-activity zones: Water, Wilderness, Target & Challenge. Each of these zones will be a stand-alone area where you or your group will be able to do a series of activities in a given timeframe. Included in these zones will be a custom built wilderness village, where you will have a bear Grylls style challenge of shelter building, fire building, leave no trace, navigation and stream-scapes. We will have a brand new indoor archery range and of course, our Coachford Axe throwing range in our Target zone and finally, our challenge zone will consist of a 50 person obstacle course built for varying difficulties so suit all abilities. Cargo climbs, big swings, ninja curved walls as well as roped rock climbing will be the highlights here.
On any given day you can choose multiple zones for your group. During the high season, we will have public sessions available for walk-ins so you can join in with a group to challenge your self in your chosen zone.
Lee Valley Kayak Expeditions
Another of our products that we are hugely excited about is our kayak expeditions. 4-hour exploration guided trips departing from Ballyhass Coachford to explore the Lee Valley on the Inniscarra Lake. There will be weekly scheduled trips that anyone can book onto. The history, geography and wildlife of the area are incredible. We are excited to take you on this journey to explore one of the hidden treasures in the centre of Cork. Stay tuned for more..
Two of the most popular water parks in the country are or course returning in 2019 bigger and better than ever. Having two choices of courses was a treat last year and we are excited to welcome you all back this season. We will be opening bookings online from April on. We also will have some great bulk buy options available prior to the opening of the season. This should be of great advantage to our regular and loyal customers over the past few seasons. Announcements of our huge new features will follow.
