After the disappointment of cancelling our first national event that was due to take place in March we are back and with huge news. We have officially been sanctioned by the World Axe throwing League and now will be hosting the Official Irish Open next month. We are buzzing that the WATL big wigs have supported our event and the incredible Irish Axe throwing community who stood tall and represented their country over lockdown in the Quarantine Axe throwing League. What does this mean? The winners of both the regular and duals format will win a ticket in the world axe throwing championships next year!! For the first time ever there will be a guaranteed Irish representation at the world championships! We couldn't be more excited about running the first WATL recognised event in Ireland. A big shout out to the crew in Tom O'Hawks for all the hard work behind the scenes in getting this event recognised and giving us the opportunity to run the comp at our new venue.
The Irish Open is a three-day event that will follow the WATL world championship format. If you are a regular axe thrower and wanted to pit yourself some of the best throwers in the country to find out just where you stand now is your chance! Who is going to be Ireland's top thrower?
It will be a great event with hopefully a big contingent of throwers from all over Ireland. Hot lunches are included both days with your registration.
It is strictly limited to 34 throwers and it's first come first serve for the first 30 throwers. If there is a waiting list of throwers after that we will do a lottery for the final 4 spaces of the throwers on the waiting list.
Friday 16th: Meet-Up; 7 pm lanes open for practice (Outside lanes always available for practice)
10am - 12pm Seeding throws for Standard Hatchet
12pm - 1pm Lunch
1pm - 3pm Stadard Hatchet to top 16
3pm - 5pm Seeding Throws for Duals
7pm Event Dinner & Outdoor Party (Quite possible will stay on-site and do an outside marquee covered dinner)
9am - 10am Practice
10am - 12pm Knock outs Finals Duals
12pm - 12.30pm Lunch
12.30 - 14.30 Top 16 finals

Please fill out the registration form here? Once you fill the form out you are officially registered and your place is reserved. You have up to October 2nd to call the office 022 27773 to pay your fee over the phone. If we havent received payment by then you will be notified and your place will be open up again in a second wave.
