As featured in YayCork, Ballyhass Adventure Group is raising the bar for winter wellness with the recent launch of three brand-new cold plunge baths at its Coachford riverside saunas, expanding its reputation for creating energising outdoor experiences that bring people closer to nature.
Set on the edge of the Lee Valley, the Coachford Saunas have been celebrated for their unique natural surroundings. Now, members and guests can elevate their recovery and relaxation with cold plunge baths, dunk bucket showers and the classic river dip - a complete and immersive contrast therapy experience.
Alternating between hot and cold is proven to boost circulation, reduce inflammation, and clear the mind - but at Ballyhass it’s about more than just the benefits. It’s about creating moments for people to step outside, slow down and reconnect, offering wellness in its most authentic form: outdoors, surrounded by nature.
With affordable full-hour sessions, Ballyhass makes a premium wellness experience accessible to everyone, reinforcing their ethos of inclusive, nature-based adventure for all, and its wider mission to inspire people to spend more time outdoors and make nature a central part of everyday life.
It’s all the contrast therapy benefits you want, but with a uniquely immersive outdoor twist, where wellness meets adventure.
As part of its growing community focus, Ballyhass will also host a Sauna Social Evening this month, featuring a special Movember edition aimed at bringing men together for connection, conversation and recovery. Keep an eye on Ballyhass’ social channels for announcements and updates coming soon.
For regular sauna-goers, Ballyhass offers a monthly rolling subscription (€80/month) that includes access to both Ballyhass sauna locations - Coachford and Mallow - giving members the freedom to sauna up to five days a week in either site and seven days across both. Subscriptions can be paused or cancelled anytime, because they believe wellness should move with the rhythm of your life.
To round out the experience, the Ballyhass Cafe is open during sauna hours - the perfect spot to relax before or after your session with a cup of locally roasted Mahers Coffee, sweet treats, or a pizza while taking in the river views.
