Our Award-winning summer camps are coming to Coachford in 2020
We are really excited to start planning our summer camps for our 2020 season in Coachford. For nearly a decade we have been running award-winning summer camps in Mallow and are really excited to have the chance to bring this formula to the Lee Valley. We have always prided ourselves in Instructor lead full-day camps Monday - Fridays.
What will be in store?
Coachford is particularly exciting for us as we will be putting together a camp that not only mixes individual activities but also touring trips throughout the Lee Valley. Your kids will go on a full day exploration where they will put all of the skills they learnt throughout the week into use. Every activity will be based around planning their end of week trip. They will learn how to build and start a fire that they will cook over when they camp for lunch. Build shelters should they get stuck out in the rain. Learn navigation and the ability to plan which direction they want to go. All the while travelling using the leave no trace methodology. You won't even know they were there! Combine these skills with, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding and raft building and you have little explorers coming home to you!
Activities completed throughout the Ballyhass Explorers Camp:
Stand up Paddle Boarding (SUPs)
Team games, Icebreakers and Mental Challenges
Wilderness and bushcraft skills & Leave no trace training

One Day Summer Camps €35pp
8 - 16yr Olds
A week too long? Our one-day summer camps are the perfect mix of action and learning for a day of fully supervised outdoor fun. Scheduled throughout July and August on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Each day participants will get to go on our famous giant aquapark for their water session and in addition to this, they will get to complete one of either our challenge zone or wilderness zone.
In our challenge zone, the campers will get to compete in our Irelands fittest families type obstacle course with run-up ramp walls, cargo net climbs, balance beams and tunnel crawls.
While our wilderness zone is where they will learn all the bushcraft skills, shelter building, stream-scapes and leave no trace principals. Regularly finding frogs and newts that live in our stream that runs through our site is incredibly exciting for the participants and instructors alike.
