Join an Amazing Watersports Community In Cork

If you're looking to be part of a unique community in a sport with an incredible rate of progression, a Ballyhass Wakeboarding Membership is for you. Join as a member and connect with riders who are genuinely buzzing to see you land your next trick.

This membership is open to riders at obstacle standard who are ready to make wakeboarding part of their weekly routine. Running for seven months, it offers excellent value for anyone planning to ride regularly, take part in the energy of Friday Night Jams, and become part of a supportive, like-minded wakeboarding community.

If a membership sounds like something you would be interested in but aren't quite at obstacle standard just yet, check out our learn to wake programmes for a more beginner friendly community who will have you riding the obstacles in no time.

What is it?

Wakeboarding is one of the most exciting and accessible watersports around, combining elements of surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding into one fast-progressing, addictive sport. Since its beginnings in the late 1980s, wakeboarding has evolved from being boat-towed on lakes and coastlines into a global sport with purpose-built cable parks designed for all abilities.

The development of cable wakeboarding has transformed how people learn to ride. Instead of being pulled by a boat, riders are towed by an overhead cable system that runs at a consistant speed. This makes learning easier, more affordable, and far more social. Cable parks also allow riders to progress quickly, introducing obstacles and features that let creativity and skill develop at every level - from first-timers to advanced riders.

At Ballyhass Mallow, wakeboarding is all about progression, community, and fun. Whether you're stepping onto a board for the first time or looking to take your riding to the next level, our cable system and coaching make it easy to get started. With a supportive atmosphere, expert instruction, and a stunning lakeside setting, there's no better place to experience wakeboarding.

If you're looking for a new sport that gets you ourdoors, keeps you active, and connects you with an encouraging community, wakeboarding is hard to beat. Come and give it a try at Ballyhass - you might just find your new favourite thing to do on the water.

Jam Nights

These group event evenings are a great way to meet all levels of our wakeboarding crew. Once you are at obstacle standard, the jam nights are a great way to push your limits from encouragement on the dock to observing the skills of other wakeboarders. As a change from booking your 15 min sets, book in for one of our Jam Nights for smaller 5 min sets which allows you to practice one trick at a time and get egged on by the crowd on the dock.Jam nights are fun nights and now with the floodlights, there are no limits to wakeboarding even after sunset. Each night has a different theme and includes snacks and challenges. Check out our events calendar and instagram page to keep up to date with our next jam night and the theme.

Junior Jams

The same great atmosphere as the the main open jams but just for the younger crew. These jams are aimed at 10 - 17 year olds with an aim to build the community for our next generationof wakeboarders.

Also check out our Cutting Edge summer camp, junior learn to wakeboard 6 week programme and Grom Academy: Progression Series - all aimed for this age group.

Join our supportive, beginner-friendly wakeboarding course designed especially for women aged 17 - 65. Over six exciting weeks, you'll receive personalised one-to-one coaching, build confidence on the water, and progress quickly in a fun, pressure-free environment. Enjoy plenty of ride time, cheer each other on from the dock, and celebrate your skills at our bonus Jam Night finale. Whether you're brand new to the sport or a beyond beginner looking to improve, this is the perfect place to learn, connect, and have an amazing time on the water.

Ballyhass Open Competition

Celebrate the season in style at our annual wakeboarding competition - an epic social weekend that brings together riders of all abilities, from first-time rookies to seasoned pros. This fun-filled event is all about great vibes, good company, and showcasing the skills everyone has developed throughout the year.

The format changes each season to keep things fresh, but the atmosphere is always the same: supportive, exciting, and full of energy. We kick things off with a laid-back Friday night jam that runs into the late evening to polish off all the competition runs, followed by a full weekend of friendly competition and unforgettable moments on the water.
