Ballyhass is looking forward to welcoming riders back to the Open on Saturday, 8 August 2026.

This one-day competition brings rookies, intermediate riders and the open field together for a full day of progression, competition and a proper wakepark party. Your entry includes practice, competition riding, Sunday’s jam session, all meals on Saturday, equipment rental and the official competition T-shirt.

Competition format

How it runs

Three divisions, one packed Saturday and plenty of opportunities to put down your best run.

Three full laps

Rookie and intermediate riders get three full laps of the park in one competition run.

Unlimited falls

Keep going and finish your run. Falls won’t end your chance to show the judges what you can do.

Open head-to-head

Random dockside pairings. Winners advance round by round until the final two battle for the podium.

01Beginner friendly

Rookie

Just started riding? Learned last week or completed a Learn to Wakeboard course this season? This is your division.

  • Fluent riding and clean corners
  • Ollies, switches and ollie 180s
  • Basic 180s and grabs off the kicker
  • No obstacle spins or air tricks
02Obstacle standard

Intermediate

For confident obstacle riders ready to bring stronger grabs, spins, presses and controlled rail hits.

  • Kicker spins up to and including 360s
  • One basic invert during the run
  • Full pulls and held rail presses
  • No air tricks in this category
03Anything goes

Open

Ride loads, push yourself and show the judges your biggest, cleanest and most stylish hits.

  • Your best spins and biggest flips
  • Stylish, technical rail hits
  • Air tricks are highly encouraged
  • Head-to-head elimination format

Before you arrive

Good to know

Food

Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday are included. Add any dietary requirements to your registration form.

The Ballyhass Café will also be open for snacks, pizzas, sandwiches and extras throughout the weekend.

Accommodation

Saturday-night accommodation is available for an additional €15 per person.
