Stand up paddle boarding is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. The SUP tour at Ballyhass Coachford is an excellent opportunity to try stand up paddle boarding in a stunning location surrounded by beautiful forest covered river banks and amazing wildlife from foxes to kingfishers. Take in the beauty of nature while calmly floating down the river listening to the birds around you.
At the beginning of the tour you will be introduced to the sport and safely instructed how to stand up and paddle before paddling down the river. During the tour you will learn about the sport, the local area and the wildlife that surrounds you. You will start at ballyhass and paddle downstream towards coachford before turning around and making your way back to ballyhass. You will be supplied with identification cards to help you find different species of animals and trees along the trip and for those who want instruction on SUPing during the tour, the instructors will be more than willing to give you a few tips and demonstrate some strokes!

What do I need to know about this tour?
You need to have reasonable level of fitness (5km return trip)

Will I get Wet?
Most likely on this tour. Often in these trips its better to get wet early and then you are good to go and the tension is gone. SUPing is all about rythom and stabilty comes from when you are moving.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Not at all, let us know early days, but remember you will be wearing a lifejacket throughout the tour so in the event that you do fall in you will be floating in the water with your head and shoulders above the water line in reach of one of our guides who are always close by.
There are just two of us can we book on to a tour?
Absolutely, we have public tours running several times a week during the season. Select the date and see what dates and times are avilable. you can be joined by up to 10 other people in your group, but its a great way to meet people in a unqiue new outdoor environment.
