Coachford Teenage Watersports is a teenage camp with a focus on water skills. Primarily focused on water based activities this course is designed for teenage participants from 13 to 17 years old. Participants will spend their whole sessions out on the water each day with their own dedicated group leader. They will get to experience the amazing varied water activities we have to offer, learn some valuable life skills in water safety, and challenge themselves to scale our wipe out style Aqua Park. You may have been to Ballyhass before but being with the same group for a full week and experiencing, learning and advancing in outdoor sports really is the ultimate outdoor experience you can have this year. We are so excited for this camp!

Water Gear

A wetsuit if you own one, but do not worry if you do not own one, we will supply one.

A swimsuit to wear under any rental wetsuit for comfort.

Old shoes/crocs/sandals for walking between sessions

Towel and plastic bag for wetgear

Warm Outdoor Clothing

We are an outdoor activity centre. If it is raining we will still operate, we have a sheltered site that nothing short of a red weather warning stops us. It is your responsibility to have appropriate outdoor clothing. If nothing else at bringing a spare pair of clothes.

Rainproof outer layer

Probably the most important part of all. You can pick up cheap ponchos in any supermarket outdoor store. It will make your experience so much better if it's raining. (Or at a minimum a spare pair of clothing that can act as an extra layer)

Snacks

Kayaking is hungry work, having snacks to get through the weekly course is no harm

Refillable water bottle

We have a water fountain on site that you can refill your water bottle in between sessions.

€ coins for the tuck shop

Our hot chocolates are famous!! We have our Lets Eat Takeaway cafe open every day. Check with us in advance or pre book hot meals for the whole group.

Waterproof sunblock

Even on a cloudy day, this prevents wind burn. We can't overstate how important this is at all times of the year regardless of what the weather forecast says.

Is this the camp for me?

If you are looking for a camp with just our water activities then this is the camp for you. This is a teenage only camp so you are guaranteed to be with other people your age.

Do I need to be able to swim?

As this is our water only camp we strongly recommend being confident in the water. For all activities you will have a lifejacket and wetsuit provided. We cater for all swimming abilities and being able to float in a lifejacket is needed.

What is the difference between this camp and the others?

This is a water only camp whereas the other camps include land and height activities as well as some water. This is also a teenage camp from 13-17 and our other camps have a broader age range. It's good to take this into consideration when picking the right camp for you.

Does the Adventure Pass apply to this Summer Camp?

Yes! We do offer a discounted price to all our members. This camp is usually €150 online and Adventure Pass holders can get it for €125.
